Skylight Foundation makes a donation to support Joe's Journey Thursday, April 23, 2015
The Skylight Foundation has recently reached out to a family in need within our community by making a donation to support Joe Toth’s recovery and contribute to medical bills.
Back in March, Joe, a self-employed Graphic Artist, who having spent the best part of the day with his family making final arrangements for his youngest sister’s funeral, suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. He was found unconscious and unresponsive by two heroic strangers and medivacked to Cleveland Clinic for Therapeutic Hypothermia in an effort to reduce the degree of cell death and to suppress the swelling of the brain. Joe then spent 12 days in ICU before being transferred to the Cardiac floor where he continues to be cared for by a team of Cardiologists and Neurologists. It will be a long journey to recovery for Joe, one which will require specialized medical attention and a change to his living arrangements.
Steve Thompson of the Skylight Foundation said, “We wanted to step in and help Joe and his family. It’s a very difficult time for them all and we wish Joe a speedy recovery and the best of care."
