Steve Thompson Shakes up Cocktails for a Great Cause Friday, April 17, 2015
Steve Thompson, President of the Skylight Foundation, recently tried his hand at bartending at Rick’s in Chagrin Falls and all in the name of a good cause - Tiger Prep’s first guest bartending fundraising event. With over 100 friends and donors turning up to join the “Happy Hour” fun, Tiger Prep succeeded in raising $1,000 to help fund their functional skills-based programs for students with special needs.
Steve, who also serves on the Board of Directors for Tiger Prep, said “The evening was great fun and we are thrilled to have raised so much to help our special needs students. The camp-like activities and summer jobs programs organized by Tiger Prep do so much to improve the social and life-skills of our students. We see them really gain in confidence, become more independent while at the same time having fun. We are always looking for ways to continue to fund this vital work so we were delighted that the first bartending event was so successful and we plan to do more in the future.”
